Description
A 17th Century Flemish Carved Oak Rail and Four Panel Doors along with a Group of Carved Oak Ornamental Furniture Fragments: components from a cupboard. The rail carved with a frieze of scrolled cartouches flanked by undulating scrolls of foliage centred by an applied angel head corbel with shell crown beneath a dentil moulded top. The square doors ornamented with geometric moulding centred by a lion masks. One pair 28” (73 cm) square, the other pair having a break front pilaster to one side, 28½” x 31” (73 cm x 79 cm). A Pair of block appliqués carved with shell crested angel heads above crossed wings, 9½” x 3¾” (24 cm x 9.5 cm). A pair of corbels and another in two parts carved with strings of beads between moulding above oak leaves, and studded with flower head mounts, 14” x 3½” (36 cm x 9 cm). And three bell flower appliqués 8” (20 cm) in length.
