Description
A Small Inlaid Bonheur du Jour richly decorated with penworked flowers, foliage and musical trophies in tulipwood veneered panels edged with bands of stringing within rosewood borders. The back fitted with two rows of three small drawers and having a decoratively cast gilt brass gallery rail. The fall-front frieze drawer adorned with a guilloche gilt bronze mount, enclosing a fitted interior with tulipwood drawers to the back and a viridian green faux leather insert to the writing surface. The drawer above a tambour front section inlaid with a spray of flowers and a castle, sliding back to reveal a roll top centre compartment housing stepped drawers, flanked by pairs of side drawers, standing on tapering cabriole legs mounted with gilt bronze sabots, 37” (94 cm) high, 25” (64 cm) wide, 19” (49 cm) deep.
