A Fine 19th Century Gilt Bronze Counter-top Cigar Holder/Lighter for a Shop. The twelve foliate cast cigar sockets clustered around a central stem, with three cigar smoking monkeys sat amongst them above a scrolling scalloped edge base. The wrythen stem cast with ivy garlands spiralling down the sides and tapering up to a foliate cast oil font surmounted by a monkey finial, with three further monkeys adorning the font sides, alternated with frogs bearing wick holder apertures in their mouths, 19” (59 cm) in height.
