A Rare Late Elizabethan English Oak Side Chair, Circa 1600. The back panel carved with interlaced strapwork and scrolling embellishments in an apex topped recess beneath a shaped cresting rail carved with a pair of voluted S-scrolls; the terminals form lobe finials. The uprights enriched with a chain of linked S-scrolls. The seat with moulded edge above carved rails and fluted legs united by peripheral stretchers, 34¼” (87 cm) high, the seat 15” (38 cm) high, 20” (51 cm) wide.
