An Early 17th Century English Oak Court Cupboard enriched with carving and inlaid with marquetry bands of bog oak & holly. The canted upper cupboard carved with scrolling foliate strapwork defined against a recessed pitted ground to the door panel flanked by half daisy wheels to the side panels embellished with punchwork. The bulbous cup & cover posts bearing a lunette carved canopy frieze. The lower cupboard carved with daisy wheels entwined in a guilloche band to the central door flanked by small recessed panels of arabesque strapwork and palmate pilasters either side above bulbous gadrooned & foliate carved cup & cover posts leading down to a base shelf. Standing on block feet 48½” (123 cm) high, 48” (122 cm) wide, 16” (41 cm) deep.
