A Pair of 17th Century Carved Oak Chairs attributed to Derbyshire Circa 1670 with later upholstered seats. Each having two crescent shaped back bars with scalloped upper edge, carved with voluted scrolls centred by a face mask of Charles I and adorned with turned pendant finials. The uprights having scrolled lobe cut terminals. The seats now upholstered and covered in faded red velveteen edged with brass studs, standing on compressed reel turned legs with similarly turned front stretchers and plain rails to the sides and rear. 39 in (99 cm) high, the seats 20 in (51 cm) high, 19 in (49 cm) wide.
