A Fine Louis XVI Gilt Overmantel Mirror. The arch-topped bevelled glass in a mirror-paneled border with a beaded inner frame and carved outer frame of wrythen flowers entwined in ribbon. The foliate pediment festooned in garlands of flowers and surmounted by a floral display raised on a pedestal flanked by cherubic caryatids sat amongst sprays of laurel, with urn finials either side, 73½” (187 cm) high, 42¾” (108 cm) wide.
