The subject depicted dressed in finery; her lace trimmed robe with embroidered stomacher and white ruff collar, holding in her hand a Lancastrian rose sprig, with an armorial shield upper left and inscription upper right; Anno Dni. 1603, Ætatis Suae 21. The panel applied with ebonised & reeded edge moulding, 34¼” x 27” (87 cm x 69 cm).
