Description
A Large Stuart Period Pewter Charger & Two 18th Century Plates ornamented with wriggle-work engraving. The charger with printed label to back; ‘Circa 1680 Unrecorded touch mark on reverse of rim, possibly West Country, Marriage dish engraved on multi-reeded rim with five cherubs and floral design, well engraved with bird of fertility and flowers’ Exhibited Usher Gallery Lincoln Oct. 1962, also Reading Exhibition Sept-Oct 1969, No. 101 K.W. Bradshaw Collection, 18½ in (47 cm) in diameter. One plate engraved with crown and stylised flowers, by Nicholas Jackman of London (Cott. No. 2552) stamped with owner’s initials AG at top & MG at bottom, Circa 1720, 9¼ in (23.5 cm) in diameter. The other a Anne Queen period marriage plate by James Hitchman London Circa 1701-10, engraved with initials EH and IS amongst floral designs, 8½ in (21.5 cm) in diameter.
