Description
A Pair of Late 19th Century Sèvres Porcelain Lidded Garniture Vases with gilt bronze mounts. The tall tapered bodies decorated with hand-painted scenic panels depicting a lady & gentleman wearing 18th century style costume in romantic garden setting to one side, and bouquets of flowers to the other. The deep rich blue ground embellished with gilding and mounted on gilt bronze plinths cast with laurel wreaths & foliate scrolls with lion masks bearing ring handles in their mouths either side. The bell shaped covers surmounted by finial knops, 20½ in (52 cm) high.
