Description
A 16th Century Carved Walnut Dressoir of Canted Form. The moulded cornice over Romayne panel doors in moulded frames depicting a profile portrait head of a man & wife encircled by a wreath of leaves and fruit. The side panels carved with pendant trophies hung from face masks. The frieze fitted with two drawers enriched with further Renaissance style carving and raised on baluster turned supports carved with rising acanthus above reeded knops, leading down to a moulded plinth base with four panelled back, and terminating on squat bun feet, 59” (150 cm) high, 52” (132 cm) wide, 20” (51 cm) deep.
