Description
A 17th Century Oak Wainscot Chair. The shaped cresting rail carved with foliate S-scrolls above a plain twin panel back stamped with punch-work embellishment to the moulded central divide. The uprights having lobe cut terminals with simple whorl carving. The later plank seat on moulded rails drilled for rope webbing. The arms on columnar posts above similarly turned front legs, with square rear legs.
