A Small Collection of 18th/19th Century Medical Related Boxwood Items. A rare cylindrical case with screw-off slightly domed cover stamped ”E. Bentley London”, the interior containing a clear glass medicine measure graduated in ‘tablespoons’ and ‘teaspoons’ sitting inverted over a central core containing a clear glass ‘test tube’ measure graduated in fluid ounces and minims, 2¾ in (7.2 cm) high 2½ in (6.5 cm) diameter. A bottle case containing original glass bottle and stopper (A/F) 3½ in (9.1 cm) high. A double measure of typical form with a turned double disc knop to the centre, 3¾ in (9.7 cm) high. A pill rounder with waisted shallow grooved centre and two differing depths for two pill sizes, ¾ inch (1.7 cm) deep, 2? in (6.8 cm) in diameter. A sycamore cylindrical salve or pill box with tightly-fitting pull-off domed, overlapping lid, 1¾ in (4.6 cm) high, 2 in (5 cm) in diameter. [See ‘Treen and Other Wooden Bygones” by Edward H.
