An Unusual Victorian Tôleware Container of octagonal form on a pedestal base. The hinged lid painted with a bouquet of flowers to the centre within swagged gilt garlands to the borders displayed against a black ground. The receptacle having panel sides painted with a spray of flowers to each panel and divided by gilded pilasters with decorative pendant finials. The sides mounted with scrolling handles. The octagonal centre stem on a domed base, 30½” (77.5 cm) high, 17½” (44.5 cm) wide.
