Description
A Charles II Stumpwork, Metallic Thread and Silk-Embroidered Picture, Circa 1660. The oval centre panel depicting figures at leisure in a landscape with castle beyond worked in various stitches and framed by a scroll crested band with a cherub’s head to the top and animal heads either side. The oval surrounded by flowers, birds and insects with a stump-worked beast to each corner; a leopard, unicorn, stag and lion, 8 in x 12½ in (20 cm x 32 cm). Mounted in a glazed frame.
