The near square top having a pierced ventilation panel carved with initials JB and date 1874 flanking a heart within a chip carved chevron border and mounted with a brass wire swing handle. The door fitted with a brass turn-latch handle cast as a clenched fist, and decorated with a stag and oversized bird perched in tree alongside, defined against a recessed ground and enhanced with engraved details. The side displaying a dog & fruit trees, a bird amongst brambles, with a floriate design to the back. 7½” (19 cm) high, 8½” (21.5 cm) wide, 7¾” (19.5 cm) deep.*
