The dial set in a silvered brass octagonal plate engraved with scrolls and roses with folding gnomon, hour ring, and latitude arc. The compass back inscribed with latitudes for seven cities, and signed ”L. Grassl”. Set in leather clad case with an original printed paper manual (folded and torn) in German and French ” L’usance de la Boussole ou Compas est” . 48 x 51 mm
