Description
A Charles I English Joined Oak Standing Livery Cupboard, Circa 1630. The planked top incised with a zig-zag band to the border within a moulded edge. The facade’s frieze carved with a guilloche plait of entwined wrythen rosettes above an arcaded palmate centre panel and two panel doors emblazoned with daisy wheels set in moulded frame, with turned knop handles and iron butterfly hinges connecting them to the palmate carved sides. The cupboard raised on stile supports leading down to a pot board with serpentine cut base rails. The baluster shaped front stiles enriched with reeding, 43½” (110 cm) high, 49¼” (125 cm) wide, 14¼” (36 cm) deep.
