The centre engraved with maker’s name Jean du Lierre à Angers amongst scrolls of foliage with a burnished steel hand and 6¼” (16 cm) diameter chapter ring painted with Roman numerals. The top surmounted by pierced scrolling pediment pieces cast with dolphins centred by a domed bell, 14½ ins (37 cms) in height.
