Description
A Fabulous George III Gilt Brass Standish, Circa 1780. Comprising of four cylindrical pots with domed lids surmounted by finial knops; one with pounce shaker, one with glass inkwell, and a pair left empty with pierced quill holes to the lids. The containers mounted on a quatrefoil stand with a screw-on urn-knopped stem bearing loop handle to the centre; the base having a down-swept scalloped edge incorporating small lobes either side bearing candle cups and terminating on peg feet, 8” (20 cm) high, 7½” (19 cm) wide.
