A Delightful Late 17th Century Framed Stumpwork Panel embroidered with a Romantic scene depicting a shepherdess to the centre holding a staff and spray of flowers with a dog and sheep at her feet. The figure flanked by a pair of columns worked in metallic threads, entwined with trailing flowers and issuing large silken blooms on scrolling stems from the tops, with the figure of a man sat playing a pipe to one side and an angler to the other fishing in a stream running along the foreground. Set in a later velvet clad mount and glazed gilt frame, 17½” x 21½” (44 cm x 55 cm).
