A Fine 18th Century Walnut Dutch Ripple-front Commode. The walnut veneered top having moulded serpentine borders with rounded protuberant corners. The four long figured-walnut drawers of graduated depths; the deep base drawer having a shaped, edge-moulded panel enriched with a relief-carved shell motif crested by an anthemion to the centre flanked by sprays of scrolling foliage. The brass swing handles on engraved back plates with conforming escutcheons. The drawers divided by shaped D-mouldings and flanked by canted scroll cut pilasters leading down to ball & claw feet, 33” (84 cm) high, 34” (86 cm) wide, 21” (55 cm) deep.
