The Virgin carved in relief from bone depicted holding a plume in one hand with child in the other, wearing a crown and elaborately decorated robes with children sheltering beneath her cloak. Standing above a globe of angels on a pedestal mount. The carving set on a repoussé brass ground embossed with a halo around her head emitting rays and framed by a bone arch with angel heads adorning the corners. The moulded wooden border enriched with carved lappets, 9½” x 5½” (24 cm x 14 cm).
