Description
A 18th Century Turned Treen Container; possible a lidded master salt. The beautiful burr-figured timber having a rich golden-brown colour and patination. The shouldered lid turned from three sections, swept up to the centre and surmounted by a small knop finial with location pins to the rim corresponding with holes to the rim of the bowl. The bowl in two parts raised on a screw-together scotia moulded stem and flat circular foot with twin reed edge, 7¼” (18.5 cm) high, 4¼” (11 cm) in diameter.
