A Cornish 18th Century Oak Longcase Case with 30 hour movement by John Belling Bodmyn. The 11 inch (28 cm) square brass dial having a raised chapter ring engraved with black Roman hour numerals and meeting-arrowhead half-hour markings encircled by an outer ring of minute markers with Arabic numerals to the five minute divisions, and maker’s name engraved along the bottom. The matted centre having a date aperture. The corners adorned with decorative scrolling spandrels. The case having a flat topped hood with a frieze band of blind fret trellis work and turned columns flanking the dial. The lip moulded trunk door with lock and key, standing on a moulded base with bracket feet 81½” (207 cm) in height.
