A Fine Regency Mahogany Box of Sarcophagus Form; the ripple grained timbers of good colour and patination. The hinged rectangular lid having a raised panel to the centre inlaid with an oval outlined in stringing and framed by a cross-banded corner; with strings radiating out from the corners to an outer cross-banded border and moulded edge. The tapered sides fitted with brass ring handles on lion mask mounts. The interior now lined in velvet (converted from a small sized cellaret) Standing on out swept feet 14½ (37 cm) high, 16½” (42 cm) wide, 12½” (32 cm) deep.
