A Late 18th/Early 19th Century Painted Ash Ladder-back Chair attributed to Cheshire/Lancashire area. The back having six graduated hump-top rungs between round turned uprights with nipple finials. The simple, beautifully worn arms pegged to turned front supports leading down to the low rush seat and on to form the legs (probably shortened), with two rows of peripheral stretchers. 45” (114.5 cm) high, 24½” (62 cm) wide.
