Description
An Unusual 17th Century Inlaid Walnut Casonne with enclosed drawers. The lid on loop hinges above a triple panelled facade and single panelled sides. The moulded panels enriched with marquetry. The decorative frieze and base rails divided into subsidiary panels by chip-carved uprights and inlaid with pairs of opposed birds and baskets of fruit enhanced with pen-worked details. One side being a door and opening to reveal three internal drawers engraved with baskets of fruit, sun & moon, and landscape & sailing ship.
