Description
A Large 17th Century Marquetried Oak Mule Chest. The hinged lid above an inlaid frieze rail of linked foliate S-scrolls centred by a shield-shaped nail-punched escutcheon over three recessed panels adorned with ‘flower-potte’ marquetry within moulded frames with nulling to the muntins, and carved daisy heads, foliate scrolls, berries and acorns to the stiles. The two moulded bottom drawers above a chip carved base rail, 34” (87 cm) high, 54½” (138.5 cm) wide, 23” (59 cm) deep.
