Description
A Gothic Style Oak Offertory Box composed of slab planks, having an apexed back board and a rectangular through dovetail-joined receptacle, adorned with ornamental iron mounts. The back board pierced with suspension holes to the top and mounted with a decorative tree of scrolling stems bearing quatrefoils. The lid on embellished strap hinges pierced with coins slats and a central cruciform flanked by Alpha & Omega mounts A O. The container’s sides adorned with rosettes; the front with scrollwork incorporating a padlock hasp, 31” (79 cm) high, 16” (40.5 cm) wide, 13” (33 cm) deep.
