Description
A Late 15th/Early 16th Century Oak Clamp Front Chest. The plank top bordered with bands of twin-reeded run-moulding and pegged to bearers with wooden pivots forming the hinges. The interior housing a candle box to one side; the hinged lid incised with lattice bands enriched with punchwork. The front board edged with run moulding and fitted with an iron lock adorned with dragon mount to the incised hasp. 23¾” (60 cm) high, 44” (112 cm) wide, 17 (44 cm) deep.
