A Fabulous 19th Century Treen Table Snuff in the form of Peacock with hinged wings & penwork embellishments: One wing un-clipping to release the lid below, with the other wing serving as a simple catch. The elaborately engraved plumage incorporating depictions of birds and fish to the wings, and enhanced with coloured stain. The base dated 1885, 4½” (11.5 cm) high, 7¼” (19 cm) in length.
