Three 19th Century Snuff Boxes: One of oblong form with rounded ends having a tortoiseshell interior and fine stipple figured exterior with small inset brass plaque to the hinged lid, 1¼” (3.5 cm) high, 4” (10 cm) wide, 1½” (4 cm) deep. One of black lacquered papier-mâché; the rectangular lid with gilt printed nautical proverb ”Obey orders If You break owners” (Nautical Proverb) in a key pattern border, ¾” (2 cm) high, 3½” (9 cm) wide, 2” (5 cm) deep. The third of dug out teak with carved geometric decoration to the domed lid centred by a lozenge shaped inset, 1¼” (3 cm) high, 3½” (9 cm) wide, 1½” (4 cm) deep.
