Description
An Elaborately Carved Japanese Lacquered Desk & Chair (Reputedly winner of a 1910 competition in the London/Tokyo Exhibition). The desk richly carved with flowers & foliage and having a pierced asymmetric back swept up to one side as a mountain entwined with two exuberantly scrolling dragons and fitted with stepped S-scroll shelf, stationary rack and small side cabinets. The base with foliate carved border above a pierced apron on beast headed cabriole legs with leafy sprays rising from the scroll feet. The revolving tub chair on a triform base.
