A Set of Eight Lancashire Bar-topped Ladder-back Chairs attributed to Billinge/Pemberton/Wigan, Circa 1780-1875. The curved, slightly domed top bars with tapered outswept terminals and an ogee point centring the underside, above four domed ‘rungs’ flanked by round turned uprights. The rush seats with protective edging strips raised on turned legs with pad feet, united by bulbous knopped front stretchers and plain turned stretchers to the sides and rear.
