A Pair of Large 20th Century Lacquered Chinoiserie Papier-mâché Hall Vases. The round necks and flared rims above tall square tapering bodies, set on moulded stands with ogee bracket feet. The sides decorated with panels of Fenghuang, peonies and rockwork with finely incised details, alternated with panels of bronzed metal appliqués cast in the form of birds and blossom on a scarlet lacquered ground enriched with fine gilt trelliswork, 54 in (137 cm) in height.
