An Early Georgian Figured Walnut & feather-banded Bureau Bookcase of slender proportions. The upper section having a cavetto moulded cornice above a single glazed door enclosing sliding book shelves above cubby holes and three small drawers, with a central candle slide below. The base section having a lip-moulded sloped fall front with moulded book ledge, opening to reveal a fitted interior and resting on side lopers flanking a shallow frieze drawer above two short and two further long drawers. The drawers all inlaid with diagonally grained borders, edged in cock-beading and fitted with brass loop handles on decorative pierced and engraved mounts with quatrefoil escutcheons. Standing on bracket feet 80 in (203 cm) high, 28 in (71.5 cm) wide, 18 in (46 cm) deep.
