A Fine & Impressive 17th Century Engine Turned Lignum Vitae Coffee Grinder. The later screw-on lid ornamented with bands of basket weave etc and surmounted by an acorn finial. The cubic body housing the mechanism, the exterior emblazoned with rose engine turning with two raised rosette roundels to opposing sides with a crank handle to one of them. Standing on a knopped stem embellished with chip carving & cross-hatching above a round spreading foot with further engine turning, 14” (36 cm) high.*
