A Fine Late 17th Century Daniel Marot Inspired Carved Walnut Side Chair. The tall back with pierced splats carved with scrolls of foliage and centred by a quatrefoil roundel, beneath an arched cresting rail of foliate S-scrolls. The knopped, twinned-baluster uprights surmounted by ball finials. The upholstered seat edged with fringing and standing on bulbous knopped tapering legs united by a curved X-form stretcher terminating on bun feet, 49” (125 cm) high, 20” (51 cm) wide.
