A Fine 18th Century Comb-back Windsor Armchair of Generous Proportions. The slightly dipped fruitwood top rail with upswept lobe terminals above an unusual shaped and decoratively pierced centre splat flanked by four long ash spindles either side piercing through the bent ash arm-bow with five further underarm spindles and shaped splat supports to the ends. The figured elm seat with burr markings morticed and wedged to turned legs united by a turned H-form stretcher, 40” (102 cm) high, 26” (66 cm) wide, the seat 16½” (42 cm) high.
