A Pair of Oils on Canvas: Family Portraits of William & Hester Church of Churche’s Mansion in Nantwich. A late 17th century portrait of Hester Church nee Lawton 30½ in x 25½ in (77 cm x 65 cm), and an 18th century portrait of her son William with inscription to verso; ‘William Church Esq. Aetatis 33, 1712, 30 in x 25 in (76 cm x 64 cm). Both contained in carved gilt frames 37½ in x 32 in (95 cm x 81 cm). [William (1679-1743) was the Great Great Grandson of Richard Churche, who built the Grade I listed mansion in 1577. The frames have plaques to the bottom commemorating the first time the property was leased out in 1696].
