Description
A Decorative 19th Century Mantel Clock with porcelain inset plaques and figural mounts. The movement stamped W.H. Tooke Succd de FL Hansburg à Paris and Vincenti & Cie Medaille d’Argent 1855. The round porcelain dial painted with a basket of pink roses and an airborne cherub draped in fluttering ribbon encircled by a bleu celeste border with gilt numeral band, signed WH Tooke. The gilt case garnished with inset Sèvres style plaques depicting cherubs, flowers and musical trophies, and flanked by the figures of classical Muses, with a flaming finial to the domed top, 13” (33 cm) in height.
