A Fine Bronze & Gilt Bronze Elephant Clock in the Louis XV Style. The brown patinated elephant with gilt bridle carrying upon it’s back the clock set into a drum case amidst sprays of foliage and surmounted by the figure of a fine lady holding a fan. The slightly convex enamel dial signed TH LEZY PARIS with a ring of blue Roman numeral hour markers encircled by an outer border of Arabic 5 minute marks. The elephant standing on a Rococo base cast & chased with scrolls of crested foliage. 23” (58.5 cm) in height.
