A Fine 19th Century French Porcelain & Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock. The movement stamped JAPY FRÈRES medaille d’Honneur, and numbered 36929, with corresponding numbers to the case. The enamelled porcelain dial painted with a love trophy to the centre encircled by a border of numeral cartouches, and marked with retailers REID & SONS. The elaborately cast breakfront case inset with porcelain panels depicting figural and landscape scenes in cobalt blue borders interspersed with tiny white enamelled beads. The case surmounted by an imposing pediment with pierced porcelain bulb of scrolling blue glazed strapwork outlined in gilding below an urn finial, 20” (51 cm) high.
