A Late 17th Century Joined Oak Splat Back Armchair of good rich colour and patination. The shaped cresting rail centred by a simply carved twin-petal motif above a channel of run moulding, flanked by peaked finials surmounting the plain uprights. The two shaped back splats pierced with inverted heart motifs. The down-swept arms in columnar posts leading down to a planked seat supported by turned legs united by peripheral stretchers. 39¾” (101 cm) high, the seat 16½” (42 cm) high, 24” (61 cm) wide.
