A Pair of Renaissance Style Maiolica Ewers & a Pedestal Wine Cooler/Jardiniere. The ewers polychrome painted with allegorical scenes in oval panels to the fronts on a blue scrollwork ground, with voluted twin serpents forming the handles and pedestal feet, 21½” (55 cm) in height. The wine cooler/jardiniere of oval form emblazoned with Heraldic crests either side; a crowned dragon to one side and a swan to the other, in scrolled cartouches on a blue and white painted ground of elaborated Renaissance style foliage and cornucopia spilling fruit. The side handles modelled as soldiers; their torsos metamorphosing into leafy scrolling limbs. Standing on a pedestal foot, 12½” (32 cm) high, 24” (61 cm) wide.
