A Rare Late 18th/Early 19th Century Coquilla Nut Bug Bear Snuff Box of rich colour and patination. The grotesque mask having opalescent glass eyes, with a carved floral wreath band around the side and over the top of the back. The pointed hinged lid intricately carved with a Grecian lady’s head and having a carved leaf thumb-piece. The bottom engraved with a flower. Slight loss/wear to the bug bear’s open mouth, 3” (7.3 cm) in length.
