A Carved Oak Mule Chest dated 1622. The planked top with moulded edge above a carved facade. The frieze rail centred by an iron navette shaped escutcheon over the date and flanked by undulating trails of leaves and flowers defined against a pitted ground. The three front panels enriched with flowering plants issuing tulip heads from their scrolling stems, and a ball flower to the centre. The broad muntins adorned with scale carving, the base rail and stiles with split ball turned beading. The base drawer hung on side runners, with facetted lozenge appliqués and moulding. 28½ in (72 cms) high, 49½ in (126 cms) wide, 21 in (53 cms) deep.
