I just wanted to drop you and your staff a note to say thank you for making me so welcome after I drove up from Suffolk on Friday to view the pewter. It was fascinating to hear more from you about the origins of the pewter and even more exciting now given that we were successful with two of our bids, and are now the proud owners of three Thomas Curtis plates and a Spanish pestle and mortar.

I wanted to write and thank you, not only for delivering our table so promptly, but for running an auction house that makes the whole buying experience a joy from beginning to end. I've been a regular at auctions since my late teens, but the warmth of the welcome I received at Wilkinsons was a first. I was offered tea or coffee, asked whether I needed a torch before it had even occurred to me that I might, and the porters were more than happy to move things if necessary. You gave me interesting background about one of the pictures, and I was so grateful for the lift to the station - another first.

Just to share with you my views on my first experience of 'shopping' at Wilkinsons! The mechanics of bidding on line were efficiently dealt with, polite and very business like. My introduction to the premises and staff of Wilkinsons was extremely pleasurable and it was a delight for me to share with Sid some of the showroom examples in an enthusiastic and truly equitable fashion, no lecturing here! A thrill to welcome the van with my purchase, but what a friendly and enjoyable meeting of minds. Over many years of buying, never have I felt so comfortable as I did in my kitchen with you two.
