The apexed back centred by a gilt brown face-mask mount above a central two-doored cupboard and raised side cupboard with pierced brass gallery rails to the tops and arcaded panels to the doored edged in beading and flanked by columns, The breakfront base section housing three frieze drawers raised on turned baluster legs, 125 cm high, 95 cm wide, 49 cm deep.

The hinged arch-topped ends pierced with trefoiled handles and embellished with studded brass fret-work mounts with engraved details. The stand holding an incomplete set of books in decorative leather bindings; 'Proude's History of England' volumes II -XII (I missing) with tooled spines and gilt blocked covers inscribed 'Christ's Hospital Montefoiori Prize', and a decorative 19th century cast brass candlestick, 10 cm in height.
